Wolverhampton City Council awarded Weatherite the £60,000 project to supply, install and commission a new kitchen ventilation system at Springdale Junior and Claregate Primary Schools.
The two projects, which were completed during the summer holiday, involved installing an island mounted kitchen ventilation canopy, supply and extract ductwork and fans, roof mounted air handling equipment and building work.
The work was carried out as part of a major refurbishment of both school’s kitchens so that they meet the current DW172 health and safety standards.
Mike Turton, sales director, Weatherite, commented: “As the kitchen at Springdale Junior School is used to cook meals for children across various sites, it was vital that its ventilation system was updated. Our team of professionals managed to carry out both projects within the six-week summer holiday so that the kitchens were back in working order when the children returned to school in September.
“We have received excellent feedback from both the head teachers and Wolverhampton City Council and look forward to working with the Council on more projects in the future.”
