Weatherite Solves a Taxing Problem for Inland Revenue

Weatherite Building Services has installed new air conditioning systems at the Inland Revenue offices at Telford Plaza in Telford, Shropshire.

Following a competitive tender, Facilities Services awarded Weatherite the £175,000 contract which involved replacing the existing air conditioning units with a completely new Mitsubishi DX twinsplit system across two floors of the Plaza.

Mike Turton, sales director, Weatherite, commented: “Having already carried out work at Telford Plaza, we were delighted to win the tender to replace the air conditioning within the Inland Revenue offices.

“This system was chosen by project consultants Parsons Brinckerhoff because of its virtual silent operation and use of the R410A refrigerant, making it ideal for an office building. We are confident that staff will be pleased with the new units.”

The project - which was carried out over eight phases - included work on the interconnecting pipework, power, controls and control wiring. In addition it involved the supply and installation of new ductwork systems, air grilles and condensate systems.

Howard Hawkins, Account Manager, Facilities Services commented: “We are pleased with the work Weatherite has undertaken on this project. They worked quickly and efficiently at weekends to ensure there was minimum disruption. We have had very positive feedback from Inland Revenue.”

WBS is part of the £40m Weatherite Group, one of the UK’s leaders in air conditioning and air handling equipment.

More recently WBS has expanded its activities to cover other sectors of the building services market including heating, ventilation, boiler house refurbishment, water, control systems and electrics as well as all aspects of commercial air conditioning systems, offering a single source choice to its customers which includes full project management, design, installation and commissioning capabilities.
